I have a 1990 evinrude vro with a stuck manual trim. The shell was broken and i replaced that but it seems that the actuator plunger is frozen.
any suggestions?

Hi,
I don't know what shell thar you are referring to. Are you talking about the hyd. ram? The only thing that I've found to go wrong with that system was the cable or the adjustment on the cable. Yes the valve that lets the oil pass from the bottom of the hyd. cyl. to the top so the engine can be raised is hard to operate, but the cable and lever should give you enough mechanical advantage to open it. If the cable is good try adjusting the ball socket on the end of the cable.
I hope this helps

I had that setup on a 48 Spl. once and the linkage ends were made of plastic. One split on me and you couldn't tell it was broken while in the resting position. Plastic junk if you ask me.
