Hi Guys

I have been looking everywhere for information on my engines and totaly by accident found this site. It appears you have some very Knowledgeable people on here. I am based in the UK and have just bought an old boat with 2Evinrude engines. They have serial No.s and Model No.s but no 2 stroke mix ratio or age etc.

I have been reading threads on the site and looking at the serial / model numbers you chaps are listing and they appear to have a different amount of numbers from mine! and i still am none the wiser to what age they are or the ratio - can anyone help?

Engine 1 is a 40HP Evinrude Norseman Model=40304D Serial=B3382

Engine 2 is a 4HP Evinrude Model=49B36D Serial=B071158

Thanks in anticipation

The 40304 is a 1973 Model Number with a factory run letter during the year after it:

It uses 50:1 87-89 US Octane to TCW-3 oil. I think your octane rating numbers are about 6 or 7 points higher than that.

49B36 is a 4HP 1979 4HP:

It uses the same 50:1 ratio.
