Hi guys , hope you can tell me good things, i just bought a "68 Evinrude 14' playmate with a v4 sterndrive, with a matching 'rude trailer, supposed to run good , 300$, i know the trailer is worth that, any info is greatly appreciated, any one like these little boats??? model # 312605 S serial # w1-27502, trailer model # 977165R serial # W11447, this is the first boat for me with an inboard drive, kinda scaring me, but the price was right

Theres still a few of us out there keeping those old things running. I have a 67 Johnson Surfer. Pics of it are on the above site in the gallery. There is also an e-mailing list you can join mentioned on that site. It's choc full of owners who know tons about the old Johnson and Evinrude boats.

Glad to help. Theres good info on that site. Plus Lee Shuster site, which is linked from there. And the mailing list is full of really knowledgeable people. Kind of like iBoats, but specific to just Johnson/Evinrude boats.
