evinrude serial..can't quite decode it...

I just bought a "25 hp Evinrude", electric start, pumps water, seems happy...but I don't think it's actually a 25..the serial/model reads 181028 e10177. So, the best I can tell is it's a 1971 18hp with electric start, is this correct?

Also, I need to convert the kill switch from "push to stop" to a "normally closed with pop-off lanyard" [shorted] for obvious safety reasons. Is there a tutorial and/or part number i need to do this easily?

...Well, I just couldn't read the serial properly. It is 18102S. So, it is a 1971 18hp after all.
