Evinrude serial number location?

Look on the port side of the transom bracket for a 1 X 3 aluminum plate with 2 sets of numbers: first is model number; second is serial.

If the plate is missing, look for a 1" round aluminum welch plug on the block.

It should be on the port side of the transom bracket(Engine to boat mounting bracket). If not, look around on the engine block for a small silver plug(Like a freeze plug) and post any numbers/letters you find there

I believe its a 1965 evinrufe but not sure the year
