Hi, I have just purchased an Evinrude Ski Twin Model No. 33508B Serial No. C445579 which needs the carb sorting, but first of all I need to know the age of this motor, as I need to find out what carb is fitted on this model to determine how to set it up including float levels or any other adjustment needed. Hope someone can help me. Fletch.

Re: Evinrude Ski-twin

I'll be willing to bet, that your model number is actually a 35503B and that would be a 1965 model. They built the 33hp Ski Twin from 1965 - 1970. 1971, was bumped up to a 40hp. Anyhow, the carb for the 33 is pretty simple to work on and the float setting should be parallel with the top of the carb. Low speed setting should be 1 1/2 turns out from lightly seated and high speed setting 3/4 turns out from lightly seated.

Oops. you're right. 33503B. It appears the third number signifies the year. The next year is 3360XXX

Re: Evinrude Ski-twin

Thank you so much for your help, yes the number is badly stamped. I have checked the fuel pump ,which works fine , i have checked the spark which looks good ,i have pulled it over a few times and it fired up once for a few seconds then died after a few more pulls with the choke in all positions i found neat fuel coming out of the air intake ,so i assumed the carb is blocked, when i had a look inside the float chamber it seemed clean and gaskets in good condition . I will now reset the settings as you so kindly gave me and clean out as best as i can and check float level . fletch
