I just purchased this motor. I was hoping someone could give me some details regarding its performance and maybe some personal experience in restoring. Thanks

Hi, Cass.

That model was built from 1947 to 1951.

It is truly a wonderful little engine.

Fuel mix is 24:1, 87 octane unleaded to TC-W3 outboard oil. Spark plugs are Champion J6C gapped at .030". Set the points at .020".

Good luck. :)

Re: Evinrude Sportwin 3.3hp 4423

I also just inhereted a similar engine and have some questions on it. The lower unit has a port (screw on the side) labeled "Grease". Would it be wise to use lower unit gear lube on this, or should I use marine grease? It appears my grandpa had used some form of marine grease to fill the lower unit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
