I took the carb off of my Evinrude Sportwin 3.3hp model number 4423. There is gunk in some of the fuel line fittings, it seems that old gas was left in the lines and the oil sunk to the bottome and became gunk. I soaked the carb in a bucket of gas and some of the stuff fell off. Does anyone have any idea what else I can use to get rid of the gunk. And my float wasnt set up right b4 i took it off. Is there an expert who would know how to correctly set or give me any pointers with this cork float? Any input is welcome

Re: Evinrude Sportwin Carb

Sounds like you need a carb kit. They are very cheap and come with full instructions on how to clean the carb and fit the new parts, and then how to tune the carb afterwards.
If you get the OMC kit apparently it comes with a replacement for your old cork float.
An aerosol can of carb cleaner should shift all the gunge, it dissolves varnish and congealed oil and really blasts those passages clean.

Any OMC dealer will get one for you if they don't have it in stock.
