455 Evinrude

Hi all!
I'm a new boat owner and have found this site and the search function to be awesome in answering some of my newbie questions. I have a 14 ft alum jon with a 1962 Evinrude 10 hp Sportwin (Mod. #10024). I haven't started it yet though.
Some simple questions I haven't found answers to yet:
(1) How much oil does the lower unit hold?
(2) I haven't visited my local NAPA yet, but are simple things like the lower unit drain & fill crush gaskets something they carry or have to order? How much lead time to they usually take?
(3) What is the bulb in the fuel line for?
(4) I see what looks like the shift lever on the starboard side. I take it forward is front and reverse is to the rear?
(5) The throttle handle has Start Slow Shift Stop and Fast. I can only move the throttle from Start to Fast (while engine off). I don't want to force it towards the other settings for fear of breaking something, but it also looks like it won't go any further beyond Start as I can see the set screw that looks like it probably controls the cold idle/start speed and that keeps the throttle from turning towards the other settings.
