Evinrude Starflite 50

I have a Starflite 50hp V4. model #GG9083A. Not sure on the YR. Does anybody have a wiring diagram? Don't want to burn anything. any info on this engine would be appreciated.

That does not look like a good model number for a V4 50hp. The Starflite "Fat-fifty" was made in 1958 and 1959. When the 50hp came back in 1971, it was a big two-cylinder.

Interesting....the "GG" prefix implies that it is a Gale motor, not an Evinrude. But there is no such thing as a Gale 50hp or that model number as far as I can tell.
EXCEPT, there seems to be a 1963 Gale V-Sovereign 60hp.......

Can you post a picture of your motor? I can't find anything under that model number. I did however find a flywheel on ebay that goes to a 64 60hp, which can't be true, if Gale models only go to 1963.
You might check the model year listing at discount marine dot com.

It is a Gale engine. sent an e-mail to discount marine.com. I couldn't find the model # in there listing either. Thanks for your help

The "GG" in the model number denotes a Montgomery Ward "Sea King" built by Gale. For some reason the OMC model year guide book only goes up to 1963 for those motors but I have worked on the V4 Sea Kings many years ago.
