Does anyone know if you can make a 40 HP driven by a hand control like a smaller 9.9? We have just purchased a 40HP on a 14 ft fiberglass boat. VERY BASIC BOAT for our kid. There is no console in this boat, so I was just wondering.....
Depends on what year. The earlier J/E 40hp motors from 1960-73 either came with throttle steering arms or it could be easily added. Pretty sure the later models were similar.
