Easiest/cheapest option would be one called a "tiny tach", they will work on just about anything. There should be a few suppliers over there, ebay ended up being the cheapest for me though, an added bonus is they also have an hourmeter.
Most typical marine tachs run off the charging side of the stator, under the flywheel. Your engine does not have a charging system, so you will have to look elsewhere for a signal.

tinytach has an induction pickup that fits on a sparkplug lead, similar to a timing light but with rpm readout.
I guess the better timing lights have that too.
I have a tinytach on one of my motors...happy with it but...BEWARE: when I bought mine 2 yrs ago they all came with non-replaceable batteries...making it a throw-away item when the battery is dead.
Not sure if this has been changed or not but check it out before buying.
I've had no problems with mine yet.
EDIT: That should read "NON REPLACEABLE" above...... not "non-replaceable replaceable"
not sure why that second "replaceable" is in there, can't get it out with the edit function
I have noticed this a lot on here lately...double words at the end of a line....site is going goofy
Yeah but it usually doesn't make my posts look as stupid as that one did........a non-replaceable replaceable battery????? I say enough dumb things without help from this site. LOL
EDIT: enough enough?????? wow I think I made it mad
