My 84' Evinrude 90 tilt/trim was low on fluid and started to whine when i raised or lowered the engine, so I filled it up. the whine was better, but still there....So I asked here and got good advise from you good folks to cycle it up and down 5 or 6 times, Thank you!! It helped but the whine is still there, better, but it still whines, I'm guessing it has air trapped. I cycled it about 20 times, no better.

Is there something else that can be done? Thank you!!:)

to fill the unit, tilt has to be all the way up, and locked, then fill, cycle down and up, lock, fill again, keep doing it until it will not take anymore fluid. then cycle several times. should help.

Great! I'll give that a try. So no need to "bleed" the system? It's not caused by air in the cylinders or lines? Thanks.
