I have to replace my 140 (94) fuel pump, do I need to get rid of the VRO, if so how? The repair manuals are grossly insuficient for info. Should I spend $242 on a new VRO fuel pump? What about repair kits?

Someone said VRO repair kits not avalable. You can install a fuel pump only, or have your pump repaired. There is co that repairs them, but dont know name. I looked at company site once, I think they charged 100.00 exchanged.

If you do not want the VRO side of the fuel pump, which is around 242.00 there is a pump availible from your dealer w/out the oil inj. side for around 150.00. i forgot teh p/n but your dealer should know it. just another option. you can also rebuild these pumps. <br />SP

Re: Evinrude VRO/Fuel Pump

I want the VRO left to fuction as it came originally. I am however, trading the boat and motor in sometime in July when the new boat I ordered comes in. So, I don't want to change anything, but also don't want to tie up large amounts of expense on a boat I won't own in a few weeks.
