Evinrude, what year? what gas mix? what gas!

Hi I have just got an Evinrude, thought I would just need to buy some "2 stroke" and put it in!! boy have i a lot to learn. so I could do with your help. <br />model no FDL-190<br />serial no C 454353<br />any Idea what year this could be? what gas mix? and what gas you would suggest,and where from (i'm in England!)<br />look forward to your help<br />JMBell

Howdy, JMBell.<br /><br />Welcome to iboats. <br /><br />That is a 1965 Johnson 18hp, JMB. Someone stuck an Evinrude bonnet on her.<br /><br />It uses a 50:1 mix of unleaded regular petrol (91 octane by your system) and TC-W3 rated outboard oil.<br /><br />Use Champion J6C (used to be J6J) spark plugs gapped at .030", Set the points at .020" max gap.<br /><br />Good luck.
