Hey gang,
I do a lot of work with Ham Radio, and public service. We have a great group of guys that do somewhere between 8-14 MAJOR biking, running, and marathon events every year, not to mention training, with groups like ARES, and RACES.

Many of these events put us on the roads, running SAG, and helping stranded cyclists, and runners on live public roads.

I'm trying to find a training module of some kind for proper vehicle blocking techniques. I know just enough to be dangerous, lol, things like how to park properly to minimise the danger zone in the unfortunate event your vehicle is struck by another motorist. I could throw something together with the knowledge I currently have, but I'm sure I'd leave out some key points.

Looking for some points to throw together at our next training session. Anyone have anything out there, or can point me in the right direction? It seems locally here, even for our fire/ems departments EVOC training is few and far between.

Always park with your wheels turned far to the right. That way if you vehicle is hit, it goes into the ditch, instead of forward over you and the person/persons you are trying to help and oncoming traffic.

Not sure of OH laws, but in GA you can pay a fee for amber strobe for the top of your vehicle, to warn other drivers of your vehicle and that it is an emergency aid type vehicle. You can buy the magnetic light that plug into you cig lighter from just about anywhere that sell towing gear.
