Excessive steam from through hull exhaust

Recently purchased 1998 Ebbtide Campione with 5.0 efi engine and through hull exhaust. This is my first experience with this exhaust. Seems to have a lot of steam coming out under normal skiing loads. Engine runs around 160 to 175 degrees. That doesn't seem too hot. Pretty sure that there is no smoke mixed in to confuse with steam. Is there anything I should check to make sure there is not a problem or is this normal. Thanks for your help

See if you can do a cooling system pressure check. That will tell you if any cooling water is leaking into the engine in places it should be.
