The steering wheel on my 87 Sea Ray Sorrento S24 is loose. By that I meean when you grab it it has an excessive amount of play. In short it's wobbly. The steering works fine its just obvious that the steering wheel is not tight and I'm sure it wasn't built that way.
It may be an easy fix but I'm just leery of tearing into it without any instructions or drawings or expert advice of what I'll find especially where it is working well. There's about 8 allen screws that hold the Sea Ray label on the center of the steering wheel.
Can anyone offer advice as to what the problem likely is? How serious is it and is it something a middle of the road DIYer can fix?
Thanks!
