Excessive water over the bow.

In May I bought a 2000 sun tracker party deck 21 with a 115 mercury oil injected motor. It ran fine, but we all got soaking wet while riding due to water coming over the bow. It seems the front of the boat is to low Every time I take it out the same result. It runs around 30 mph with no motor issues. I have called several tracker service centers and the have never heard of anything like this. Anyone ever experienced or heard of this?

Need more info... What kind of weather? How fast? How big of waves? How many people?

I was only in a toon once. It was a 27 footer and at 30 mph it got everybody wet as well, whenever there was more than about a foot chop.

I would just go slower.

Is your motor trimmed all the way down? That's the first starting point. Next place would be to see if you have any obvious water intrusion causing the boat to be heavier in the front (wet foam, live wells full up, etc.).

On that boat you shouldn't get enough water over the bow on calm water to feel wet.

I don't use the livewell. when I put in I have the motor all the way down then trim as I go.I have experimented different ways this weekend. I noticed that the motor sems to have been raised or replaced. There are holes that have been used in motor mount.

Shoot a photo of the boat on the trailer from the side ... let's see if your motor looks to be mounted wrong. Is the anticavitation plate level with the bottom of the boat?

Sorry I thought Tracker Parties were toons. I looked it up and what I see is low bow depth and far forward seats.

If 1 person at no wake speed is a problem (as you say) then the boat is out of balance. Waterlogged? Too much gear forward? Engine too small? The specs say max 150.

Show us a pic in the water at rest.

Is it a glass or aluminum deck boat? Wonder if you're carrying a lot of water weight.

You should get more than 30 mph out of it with 115 hp. Don’t know how old the boat is but it sounds like it is possibly waterlogged.

Thinking it is water weight....had a beautiful newer boat that got waterlogged a few years back....long story but one of the telltale signs was suddenly the people in the bow got wet as it sat too low. Other signs were that one side sat a little lower than the other in the back and also when on the trailer, suddenly the trailer tires looked over weighted and was much harder to budge the boat on the trailer by hand that it had been, it also dropped maybe 4 mph on top end. Also the boat didn't quite sit on the trailer like it did previously as in it wouldn't line up with the bow roller properly.

Its the flotation foam in the hull under the floor that holds the water.

put the boat and trailer on a scale. contact the trailer manufacturer to get the weight (a tandem axle will be about 1200#). then compare that to the spec weight for the boat. verify that the outboard weight is included or not. you may be carrying around up to 1000 of water in the foam if its waterlogged.

Thanks for all the input. I dropped the motor down the two inches that it was raised and it fixed the problem
