200 Hp Optimax 1999.

I have alot of the exhaust coming from the port in the cowling. Not much from the prop area unless I am covering the cowling exhaust with my hand and all sorts comes out the prop ( at Idle)

I am also having problems with getting it to hole shot and plane out. It stalls when I go for it.

If I tilt it up, it will run. If I trim it down, it dies.

Is there an exhaust problem? Is the exhaust choking it.

No alarms. works on muffs.

Re: Exhaust Back Pressure

the exhaust ports you speak of are exhaust relieve ports.when not moving there is to much water pressure on the l/u for the exhaust to escape out the prop.iam not quite sure what your running issue is yet but the first i do when working on a opit is check fuel /air pressures [air80psi] [ fuel90psi] i think you need to verify these before you go any futher.you can get a tester at any auto parts store.ask for a standard schrader valve fuel pressure tester.the test ports are on the fuel rails one port one starboard.
