Well, went down to the parts and picked up my bellows, my shutter for the inside of the exhaust. Have the exhaust all apart, trying to down load the service manual but having issues here at home.....manifold gasket need any type of sealant? I don't figure it does but......anyway, have the front part of the bellows attached and tight....was posted that you can get the lower unit side attached without pulling the foot......I'm still studying on it but I ain't seeing it! Any tips? I have the sealant, I've ruffed up the flange(why don't they lip those flanges?), I've tried at different trim positions, motor turned etc.....I need something I can pull the bellows over and hold it steady while I fuss around with getting it on but dang it's tight down there!~

Re: exhaust bellows progress..

I use a permatex brand gasket coating for any gasket that seals water. It is NOT silicon, and I do not use silicon for making or sealing surfaces. If you are interested I will go out to the garage and get the name for you, but it's a little brown bottle with an indian on it.

I was able to attach my exhaust bellows without removing anything. It wasn't 'fun', but it took me less than an hour while drinking my drink of choice. I just used my fingers and pushed and mashed stuff together the best I could, and then tightened the worm gear clamp when it was ready.
