Yes it is.....

However, you need to reconsider becuase where you bought the bellows, they may have been old and dry rotted before you even installed them. New bellows doesn't mean fresh!

Next time store her with the drive down. But it would be ok to use until you get to fixing it. Were they quicksilver/merc bellows?

What is the condition of the j-joint bellows ? That is the key- you dont want water getting in there. Supposedly there are some rodents and muskrats that like to chew on bellows rubber, so check yours for small teethmarks

Mice, maybe? Those little suckers will chew anything that isn't hard enough to break thier teeth. See if it is chewed or split along the convelutions. Never seen one split that quick. It's OK to run that split or with holes in it. It's a fairly easy task to replace with the drive tilted up, on the Alpha. Just take your time and don't get frustrated. The one on my Bravo isn't even connected on the drive side....... Called an exhuast "tube". Some of the kits supply bellows and tube so you can use either one if you want

You can fix it. But keep an eye on the other ones, mine did the same thing. The other ones seem to be 100 %. The marina said this is not an uncommon problem. You can run with out the exhaust bellow it is just going to be a little bit louder than normal.

Re: exhaust bellows ripped

Don't some exhaust bellows have holes in them from the start?

They won't make your boat sink...
