And that'll be the problem. My Y pipe is the older 3 inch round version.
Which corresponds to the 3" Y-pipe.The existing intermediate elbows with the Y pipe are 94443 and 94444.
HGE-4309 is a 4", 7° dry joint elbow...They are too short vertically and I don't see how they attach to the new elbows/riser even though one end is about 4 inches. I bought new dry joint HGE Exhaust Manifolds (5735) and Exhaust Elbows/Risers (4309). These are interchangeable between port and starboard.
I believe either of those will fit. Just check the shutter configuration. One may be the original design and the other the updated design. Have a look at this thread -> EXHAUST SHUTTERS EXPLAINED to see the differences. You want the updated design...I have found two Y pipes that are listed as 807130A4. One of those has the casting number 861229-C and the other has casting number 44265C1. Will either of these work?
Doesn't exist.Yup, only three holes line up. I see in 90 to 92, Mercruiser added the additional top hole to the gimbal housing apparently so that either Y pipe will fit but I have the older gimbal housing with the offset.
So, to put in 4 bolts, I either have to find a Y pipe with the old bolt pattern that works with my new dry exhaust/closed cooling (if it exists)
Expensive, and you don't know what compatibility problems you'll be kicking down the road.or get a newer gimbal housing that has the bolt pattern for the newer Y pipe.
Exactly.Worried if I go for the expense of the newer gimbal housing then something else might not fit (gimbal ring or bell housing?).
