Exhaust Gasket

89 OMC Cobra with 4.3 - I have taken my exhaust manifolds off so many times that I am starting to worry about the condition of the gasket even though I haven't run the engine on the new gasket.<br /><br />What happens if you run an engine with a worn exhaust gasket? Should I replace it?

IT should really only be used one time or it may have a problem sealing <br /><br /><br />tommays

ok, but what if it doesn't seal well? Will an exhaust leak do any damage beyond a little extra noise?

The whole Really hot air/flame thing is and issue if it leaks <br /><br /><br />tommays

NEVER reuse a gasket or oring. They were never meant to be reused. They may look like they can be reused, but they are not designed to be. This includes orings used as gaskets.
