Exhaust-Hardwall-Softwall question

Upgrading to center rise from one piece manifolds. Will need 90 degree elbows, and short pieces of exhaust hose. Probably need softwall, but with hard wall availble too, can someone explain the diff, and uses? Thanks....

I recently did that on my OMC. I was confused too, but is seems that for that short of run it did not matter.

I believe that the length limit on soft wall is 2.5 x Dia. It is much easier to work with than hard wall if you don't need the length.
