Exhaust Hose/Tube Installation Tricks

I'm having trouble getting my new 4in silicone wet exhaust hose onto my new exhaust elbows due to the stiff nature of the hose and tight tolerance of the exhaust hose ID to exhaust elbow OD. I've tried greasing the exhaust elbow and also using a ratchet strap to "pull" the hose onto the elbow. I've only been able to get the hoses about half way onto the elbows. Anyone know of any clever tricks to do this?

Yes, put the hoses in the sun for a little while, and get them toasty warm, plus liquid soap & water should work better then grease because it's thinner

I know Don S always used to recommend to spray some Power Tune when installing the exhaust bellows. I know you are talking about a different tube, but perhaps it might work as well. At least something to try.

Ayuh,.... DonS taught me that trick, Along time ago,... I've had a can or 2 of Power Tune layin' 'round the shops ever since,...
Anytime ya gotta push a Rubber thingy into a metal thingy, I grab the Power Tune,....
I've used it for the bellows lock-ring, as Mark mentions, as well as installin' rubber motor mounts in their housin's, along with a few thousands other things on everything from a Boat, to Big Heavy Equipment,..
If ya wanta make rubber, Slippery,.... Power Tune is the answer,... It goes away reasonably quickly, so the rubber don't Stay slippery like with grease,....

West Marine's web page says they sell it. I am sure your local marine store / dealer will have it.
