I have a 1979 Cobalt with a Mercruiser 260 in it. My port exhaust manifold (part no 77234A7) has a crack in it and is leaking water. I am looking to order the parts to replace it and needed some advice. I think I will be getting this part from mallory ( Mercruiser Port Manifold V8 77234B , 77234A7, 77234A2 ) and had a few questions.
1) Can I reuse the existing end plates (OEM as far as I can tell) or do I need/should to get new ones?
2) This picture ( http://www.mercruiserparts.com/Show...r=60&bdesc=EXHAUST+MANIFOLD+AND+EXHAUST+ELBOW ) shows two plugs. Again, can I reuse the existing or are new ones required?
3) As far as gaskets go I know I need new gasket sets for the end plates, riser and where it mounts to the engine. Did I miss anything?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Re: Exhaust leak help

Check the condition of your end plates, you may want a new ones. It may not be an easy job to remove your old plugs so I'd rather go with all brand new stuff.

Re: Exhaust leak help

Imagine paying somebody to do the job...

No doubt!! The parts are expensive enough! Thank God I can do this stuff myself. Of course it is an old boat so it's not as fancy as the new ones but it floats! :)
