Exhaust Location Question Four Winns Freedom 160.

Hello, this is my first post. I am a member of many other forums, so I know that I need to use the search function. The problem is that I really don't know what to search for. Here is the question.

I just bought a 1986 Four Winns Freedom 160 with Mercruiser Stern Drive. I want to make sure that everything is good to go before I put it in the water. I picked up the ear muff type things so I can run the water through.

Where should the water be coming out from when I turn on the hose and fire up the engine.

Ayuh,.... From the center of the Prop, +/Or from the idle relief holes mid-way down the transom shield....

Okay,

I turned the water on and started the motor. Nothing came out of the prop, but quite a bit came out from the lower portion of the transom.

I have a 1989 FourWinns 160 freedom with an OMC sterndrive(Not a Mercruiser). When I flush the engine using earmuffs I typically see water coming from the transom shield and Bellows.
