Exhaust Manifold

I have a 98 Rinker 232 with a 5.7L Alpha. The boat has always been very tight and I never really had any water in the bilge. Recently I noticed while I was tubbing that my bilge pump was on while I was tubing. Once in the boat I noticed that there was a whole under what I believe to be the exaust manifold (right before water exits the boat) that was spewing hot water into the bilge. A quick look at the other sides manifold showed me that there was a little blue plug in the whole that was apparently missing on the side that was leaking. I drove the boat for a short while afterwords to get home and have not used the boat since. Could I have done any damage and where would I go to get a new plug if that is all I need?

No, I've had that happen on my uncles Bayliner, and we didn't notice it untill the engine started sputtering because the water was so high! You'll just need to remove the piece of the blue fitting that broke off inside (usually a flathead screwdriver works) and replace the fitting, any boat shop will have them. Your boat will be fine, the water that was coming out was just from the manifold cooling jacket.

Don't forget to buy spares of those, because more than likely, that won't be the last one to break.<br /><br />Does anyone know if they make those plugs in metal?
