I have just replaced the gimbal assembly on my boat and attached the steering.
I am at the point where I attach the exhaust tube.

As well as the original exhaust from my 165 hp in line six, I have one which
looks like it would fit but is meatier.

IT has 4 bolt holes instead of 3 and is wider and more massive.
Instead of being oval section where it meets the gimbal it is almost square
and the actual pipe is larger and round not oval. It is a single pipe.

It came off an alpha gimbal I pulled some time back.

So the questions are :

1/.What exhaust is it !!!!
2/.Yes it will bolt on, but will it fit ?
3/.Are there any advantages/ disadvantages to using it ?

Thanks for getting your thinking caps on.

OK. So the question should be is there any advantage to having a larger exhaust tube or no ?

probably not on that set-up

its not like the 165 I-6 is a real powerhouse that needs to breath

the exhaust set-up you are trying to upgrade with probably won't even work with that engine and transom assy

Thanks for the input. It actually will fit, but hey if there's no advantage I'll keep the standard set-up. Just figured it was best to ask now before it all goes back together.
