Exhaust port modification -1994 Evinrude 120hp

On the website for Bobs Machine Shop there is a product for sale that modifies the above water exhaust port. It is a small aluminum piece with two holes and I think you drill into the upper leg. Does anyone have experience with this product? Results good or bad? If it works do what do you give up? (low end torque? noise?)

It simulates the mid section style of the 3.6 XP GT V8's. They had a molded in snout on the rear lower portion of the mid section just above the cavation plate. Opening the exhaust does indeed make it very noisy. As a rule of thumb, just opening the exhaust does not make the boat go faster (although it sure sounds like it) unless you dry stack the motor too. And then RPM comes into play. <br /><br />Good luck!
