Exhaust ports

If my 93 mercruiser 3.0l alpha one has two exhaust exits on the transom assy, then why does it exit at the prop also?

they are "reliefs" not exaust exits

I suspect relief from having to push as deep as the prop.

drop a hose 3 feet under water and try to blow through it

must be easier to blow at 1 foot deep....

I'm going to have to try that tomorrow.... more for my neighbors to wonder about
