I am trying to figure out were I can find information on how the exhaust on my boat should be routed. It is a 1989 Sunbird Eurosport with a 5.7 OMC engine. The exhaust is a thru-hull design but exits torward the ends of the hull, not in the middle. I think that it is routed incorrectly, the riser are rear mounted and when they come up from the manifolds they go forward, I figured they should go to the rear. Then they go forward to the front of the engine and then turn outboard. The manufacturer is no longer in buisness so I can't contact them. I have also tried to find any pictures on the internet and I can't find any there. Thanks for all the help.

I have posted this topic before but didn't get any replies.

Re: exhaust problem

without lookin at it i think some hack removed the mufflers for some imagined power boost and created a plumbers nightmare im not sure but i think that boat had mufflers on each side about the size of a paint can with offset inlet and exhaust and teardrop shaped thru hulls at the waterline which would explain this butchery
