Does all the exhaust on this engine/drive exit throught the prop? I noticed last season that it seemed to bubble out neat the top of the outdrive, and when winterizing with the prop submerged in a tub of water, it seemed the exhaust noise came from the same area??? I am new to this boat and I/O so I do not have good benchmark- my concern is that I may have a bad exhaust bellow/bellows.....

There were King Cobra drives with 4.3's driving them? Are you sure that's not a basic Cobra?

Also - exhaust comes out the bottom of the exhaust bellows and the prop. Both places.

I bought it from a boat dealer in MI- he told me it was an OMC King Cobra. Its a 1990 Four Winns Candia 4.3l.

In the 90's, that "King" Cobra moniker was used pretty loosely.

Doesn't make a lot of difference until you are looking for parts etc. Just make sure you have the right serial number etc.

If that boat is a 90 model. The engine and drive may be an 89 or a 90.

In either case, it's a Dog-clutch Cobra.

Rick
