Why is it that all exhausts are routed to the aft of the boat after they come up through the risers. I have a project boat that the exhaust goes forward and I have not been able to find another exhaust routed like this. My boat is a 1989 Sunbird Eurosport with an OMC King Cobra 5.7L. The engine runs great but I have a little water in the oil. I was wondering if the exhaust being routed this way would cause this. What would stop the water from running back in the engine when coming off plane? There isn't anywere around here to get my manifolds or risers presure checked.

Re: Exhaust question

UPDATE

I have recently seen the same boat as mine but with hardley any hours on it, less than 200. The exhaust was routed to go aft arter the risers, completely different than mine.

Re: Exhaust question

You should have "flapper" valves installed in the exhaust line...to keep this from occuring.

Did you try contacting the manufacturer and see if there are issues with your "set up"...seems to me they switched for a reason.

Dobs

Re: Exhaust question

the manufacturer of my boat is Sunbird, who went out of buisness n the 1990's. Were would the flappers be before the mufflers or after. How would I locate them and ensure that I have them installed.
