Exhaust Shutter

Mercruiser 3.0 LX 1995 Alpha 1 Gen 11
Lower Exhaust Shutter Flap arrive in the post today but looking at it which way up does it go as the flaps will bend both ways,I have noticed on one side there is a rubber lug on one of the flaps ????
