i am running boat on trailer with hose hooked to raw water pump on ENGINE, (through hull raw water pump equipped engine).Stern drive water pump not being used or fed water at all, but after changing outdrive oil and running couple hours gear oil has white milky color. Is there a common area in outdrive that exhaust water and gear oil are separated (seal ,o ring, water pump gasket. I am not seeing a shared cavity in exploded view picture to determine where water is mixing with outdrive oil. thanks chris

Ayuh,... The exhaust cavity is pretty much everywhere inside the drive casting that Ain't Oil....
If the old raw water pump has disentergrated,...
That put's the lower unit directly inline with the exhaust flow...

thanks bondo, i wasnt sure if water pump housing sealed out exhaust water and also don't know history of outdrive or if pump is even in there, to disable stern drive water pump just leave impellar out? then replace gaskets to housing and housing itself aswell?
