Hello everyone. I hope you can help. I am trying to repair a 85 Bayliner with a Volvo Penta motor. The first issue is the expansion plug. I thought that there was a plug missing but it was on the bottom of the manifold. Wg\hen I took it off there was one missing and one looks like it is ready to come out. I bought new expansion plugs and do not know if they are the correct ones. I put the new one in and it went in pretty easily, which worries me. I have attached pictures to show that they are slim, not like the ones in there now ( at least I think). The question is, do i need to hammer the plug in more, it is kind of arched now and did not know if I need to make it more flat. I am guessing that I need to take the second one out, but it did not want to some out easliy. Any ideas on how I can take it out?
Next issue is the strainer housing. The lip that holds the cap on is broken, but only a small peice. I was hoping to try to glue it or epoxy it back on to see if that will work first before buying a new one since they are about $185. Can someone recommend a glue or epoxy?
Lastly, My trim (or motor lift) is not working. When I bought it, the lid for the relays was off and the relays were a but rusted.I tried cleaning them and they do make a clicking sound when I throw the switch. Is there a way to know if they are bad before buying new ones. I do not want to replace them and have it be the motor.
Thank you foryour help.
