i have a tracker pro-18 with a 60hp mariner. it had a 13 pitch aluminum prop on it. i put a 12 pitch stainless on it. it has bout the same rpm and it added 1 mph. but ive heard that stainless makes drastic changes, whass that mean? ive also heard that changing can ruin a piston, whass this mean? any response will be appreciated.

Please Paul, only put your problem in one place, It makes it VERY confusing to follow all your posts. If you do not get a responce, just bump it to the top untill you do.

A stainless prop of the same size & pitch as an alum. prop will usually make the engine run less RPM at WOT because the blades are cupped. Some more than others.<br />Can't see why it would ruin a piston unless the rpm goes too low & the engine lugs.
