My newer Tohatsu is going on a pontoon so I've been looking for a "nostalgia" motor for my jon boat.

If this one looks as good in person as the pic I was thinking of offering $100.00.
Probably doesn't have a tank and I know I would have to spend a few hundred ie: coils, impeller, etc.

If it's really nice and complete is it worth more than $100.00?

I'd give $100 for that little gem all day long!!! You can even convert it to a fuel pump, so you can use a modern tank, if you wanted to. Assuming the compression is good, that'll make your jon boat very happy indeed. Fun little project to tinker on too :)

I agree with kfa, if you can get that motor for $100 I would do it also, that is assuming it looks OK under the hood.

He wants $250. I wouldn't pay that for the motor unless he can demonstrate it running and it includes the fuel tank. Even at $100, it would have to have good compression if not running.

I love the idea of resurrecting these old motors just take a compression test and negotiate from there
