Hello. I have a 25602E Evinrude manual everything (which is how I like it for this boat.) I have no trouble reaching the tiller and throttle from my seating position, but the shift lever is a bit of a stretch (opposite side of the motor.) It isn't critical, but I will have a long reverse at my customary launch site that would be easier to negotiate with a more convenient shift method. The lever has a slot with a round hole near one end, which I imagine is where linkage for a console remote shifter would attach. I'd like to make a short (12 - 18") extension handle to attach to the lever using this slot. Anyone done this? Anyone know of any standard aftermarket extensions that would fit, or at least a fitting that matches the slot in the lever (maybe parts for the remote shifter set-up) that would work? Other ideas? Thanks.
