Hi guys,

I'm looking to have an extended swim platform put on my Sea Ray 176 Bowrider and was wondering if anyone else has had this done to their similar type boat. The company just happens to be here in Phoenix so they are going to do the install. This is their first install on this particular boat so they are doing it for free (normally $400). The cost of the platform itself is $1145.

Is this price inline with other vendors? Have you been happy overall with the platform on there? Any downside?
This is the company doing the work.>>> http://www.swimplatforms.com/

Seems like a reputable company, and I have planety of examples to inspect but I don't like strangers messin' with my boat.

Any thought? Including, is the thing worth $1200.

Thanks a bunch.

Price seems right.................about the cost of the factory options I've seen..................I think you'll love it!! Great addition, and eases reboarding as the platform is at water level, and the ladder extends a bit farther into the water......................enjoy.............:):)

Looks good

You need to watch the weight you allow on it as the riser will allow water into the motor if you push the stern low enough  which may not take that much weight on a small boat

Re: Extended swim platform

I have a nice big extended platform off the back (i think it is only a 1200 upgrade thou). I love it for lots of reasons, keeps the kids that much farther away from the prop when we are beached or anchored and trimmed up, great place fo the dog to sit and dry off while still being able to get around him, can seat around on it with lots of room, holds 4 coolers with room to still walk around, so on and so on.... I think its a great idea!

This isn't my boat but its the same one with the same swim platform

Re: Extended swim platform

We have a swim platform and it is great. Before when tubing or skiing it was incredibly awkward to handle the tube, get people situated, in and out of the water. Our new boat has a platform and now I have help getting the kids in and out, and maneuvering when back there. The extra space for people to stand is a awesome safety and convenience factor. You will get your money's worth.

not having to use a ladder is awesome.

price doesn't seem too bad. looks like the platforms are good quality, free install, warranty?
