Hi all,
I'm in the process of buying a Sea Ray 180 Sport and have a couple questions:

a. The dealer said the boat has a bow to stern warranty for two years. For $650 more, one can get an additional 3 three years of coverage.

Is this warranty worth it in your opinion for a new boat?

b. Also, are the starters on these boats made to be cracked numberous time on a day trip? I was figuring on doing some fishing and thus stop here, go there, all day long and having starting the engine up many times. Is this harmful for the engine?

Thanks.

Re: Extended Warranty ?

Is it a dealer warranty or a third party warranty?

Read the fine print, some 'add on' warranties aren't worth the paper they are written on.

Look out for limited reinbursement for particular jobs such as motor replacement/rebuild. Also towing and recovery.

A wet enviroment is hard on any electrical device, the starter will last a long time as long as it's maintained regularly.

Aldo
