On a 1987 one I had it was on a metallic sticker on the main frame towards the front....was completely illegible. There's a very good chance you no longer have an id number legible on your trailer.

My 1990 is on the front port side silver tag. did you lose your registration?

Mine was on the port side front. Fell off long ago. No registration. In my state there is a form which has to be completed by an inspection station, verifying the lack of a VIN. Problem is, can't get a temporary tag to take it to the inspection station. Don't ask how I got it home ...

If the stickers gone try going to your DMV to see if they can get you a copy.
