My boat with a 2005 Yamaha F115 will be stored outside under a cover this winter. What needs to be done to get all water out before storage in freezing temps?
So far I've checked the fuel/water separator and cleaned the filter, changed the lower unit oil, engine oil and filter and topped off the tank and ran the motor with with fresh gas and stabil. I will blow out the garden hose connector flushing attachment with compressed air tomorrow.
And does the motor need to be stored in the upright/level position like the manual says or can it be tilted up slightly? I have a Lock-n-Haul transom saver. Should this be left in place or is there a better position to keep pressure off the tilt/trim cylinders during storage?
Thanks for your help!
