I am in the delema that I would like put my 04' F115 on a hull that requires a 25" shaft length. Will it be cost effective to change the shaft length? Will this void the warranty?

Re: F115 shaft length change?

Hi,
I'm not sure if there is a jack plate or bracket to mount so a shorter shaft outboard can be used on a longer transom (the reverse is possible with a bracket or jack plate for sure, like an XL shaft outboard on a Long transom).
Check for example here:

Link

Unless You can find such solution I would personally just sell the whole F115 long shaft outboard and then try to find a newer replacement extra long (XL) shaft outboard (not neccessary a Yamaha - a Suzuki, Johnson or Mercury 115 hp 4-stroke may work as well).

To the best of my knowledge You need basically a new F115 XL lower unit and that is rather expensive new unless You can find a second hand.

The cost effective question and warranty question I can not answer (but on the first Q I think I know the answer...).

I have a F115 (2003) myself, Long shaft, and I really like this outboard.
