f250 gauge not working

I have a 2006 Yamaha f250. I have the square gauges. Just recently the rpm/hour gauge stopped working. It powers on but has no readings. I have another gauge that I hooked up but I had the same result. I do not have extra harnesses laying around to test. Is there another way to check the harness or hub without buying a new one. Already checked all connections and wires. Anything visible looks ok. Thanks in advance

not much help, but maybe find out where the tach signal comes from and measure that on both ends of the cable to see if and where it is being lost
