I have an oil leak from the PTT tilt rod. It seems to be just a slight leak from the seal.
I am pulling my boat out to fit Smart Tabs soon, and was maybe going to tackle the leak. Is it an easy quick job? If its tricky and i could run into problems I will just top up the ATF level and wait to fix the leak at the end of the season.
I don't really want to end up leaving the boat on the trailer if I can't get the job finished quickly.
I have had a look at the work shop manual and there is a 'dust seal' a 'back up ring' and an 'O ring' listed in descending order followed by the 'outer cylinder end screw'.
What part(s) am I likely to need to fix this and are they available speparately?
Any downside to living with the leak a while and just topping up?
Any other tips on doing this job?
Thanks
Andy
