I took my F90TLR out of winter storage today. When I connected the battery I smelled something hot and saw some smoke that appeared to be coming from the upper casing. I pulled the battery connection right away. Nothing was turned on, no key in the ignition even. I pulled the top cowling and did NOT notice the hot electrical smell in their. Nor could I find anything that looked burned.

Later I connected the battery with my digital multimeter in line to measure current. The current was zero so what ever got hot must have burned open. With the meter in line I was able to run the trim motor up and down. After this I didn't try to start it or do anything else with it.

Is there anything electrical in the upper casing? What the heck would get hot with everything turned off? By the way, I double checked to make sure I did not hook the battery up backwards.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts. - JB
