Nice dash panel.

I would like to see more threads like this. A specific resto project for a boat vs the ENTIRE boat resto

Re: Fabricated a New Dash Panel

Nice work - was it as simple as cutting it to size and drilling the holes in it, or was there more to fabricating it?

Looks great Searayb! I am looking to do the same thing. I see the thickness was .118 did the sheet feel solid? I would essentially be using the full sheet and I am wondering if it would be rigid enough. I have not measured the thickness of the original but I am thinking that is thicker than that. Maybe not
Thanks

Gator, the thickness is the same as my old panel, but was half the sheet, it was more rigid then the old sun baked panel.

Re: Fabricated a New Dash Panel

I used a scroll saw to cut it, then used a Dremel tool and sandpaper to smooth out the edges. Used a 3 1/2 in. Hole saw, Menards Sku: 2521339, for the speedo and RPM gauges. Used a 2 1/2 in hole saw , Sku: 2422550 for the other gauges. 1/2 in. Drill bit for the fuses. The hardest part was cutting the rectangles for the switches, used a jig saw for them. Make sure to keep the plastic on both sides of the acrylic while cutting and drilling to keep it from cracking.
